About Govt Exam Check
Every year a large number of candidates decide they are "too old" or "not qualified" for a government exam and stop applying — often incorrectly, because the rules sit across several paragraphs of a 70-page PDF and almost nobody adds them up correctly. This site exists to do that arithmetic for you, for free.
What makes us different
- We tell you whether YOU can apply, not merely that a form exists. Other sites list notifications; we check them against your date of birth, category and qualification.
- Age is calculated on each exam's own cutoff date, not on today's date. This is the single most common source of wrong answers elsewhere.
- Relaxations are stacked correctly. Disability relaxation is added on top of your social-category relaxation, so an OBC-NCL candidate with a disability is eligible to 43 on a 30-year post, not 40. Many sites get this wrong by several years.
- Every answer shows its reasoning — your age on that exam's date, the relaxation applied, and for posts read from a notification, the exact line it came from, so you can check it yourself.
Where the data comes from
Only from the bodies that recruit: the Staff Selection Commission, UPSC, the Railway Recruitment Boards, IBPS, and the state public service commissions and selection boards. Our crawlers read their notice boards several times a day, and every document we list links to the commission's own copy on its own website — we do not host or re-upload notifications.
From a recruitment advertisement we take the facts that decide eligibility: the age limit for each post, the date it is counted on, the relaxation for each category, the qualification, and conditions such as domicile or gender. Each one is stored with the sentence it was read from and its page number, and a script checks that the sentence really is on that page of the PDF and really contains the number before anything is published. A value that cannot be quoted is not published.
How each value is checked
A sentence can be real and still be misread — an OBC limit taken for the General one, a table row read against the wrong post. So every advertisement is read twice, by two independent readings that never see each other's work, and the two are compared value by value. Only what both readings agree on is published. Where they differ, the value is left out until the disagreement is resolved — we would rather show nothing than a guess.
Scanned PDFs, where text has to be recognised from an image, get one more step: every digit is compared with the page image itself, because recognition software misreads numbers — it once read "01.01.2027" as "04.04.2027". A value that cannot be confirmed against the image is not published.
Values read this way are labelled from the notification, with the quoted line and a link to the PDF. Older figures that have not yet been read from a notification are labelled not yet verified. Neither label means a person at a commission confirmed anything — only the commission's own notification can do that, and we always link to it.
Corrections
If anything on this site disagrees with an official notification, the notification is right and we are wrong. Tell us through the contact page or the question box on the exam's page, with the notification's number if you have it, and we correct the page. Questions posted under an exam are answered there, publicly, so the next candidate with the same doubt finds the answer.
What we are not
Govt Exam Check is an independent private website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Staff Selection Commission, UPSC, IBPS, the Railway Recruitment Boards, any State Public Service Commission or any government body. We never collect application fees and we never submit forms on anyone's behalf. All applications must be made on the official government portal.
How it stays free
Advertising pays for it. There is no account, no OTP and no paid tier, because charging for eligibility information would mean somebody misses a form over ₹99 — which defeats the purpose of building this. Updates are posted free on our WhatsApp channel.
