SSC CGL age limit and relaxation 2026
The age limit for SSC CGL 2026 is 18 to 30 years as on 01 Aug 2026. Your age is counted on that cutoff date, not on the day you apply — so a candidate who turns 31 after the cutoff date is still eligible.

Who should apply for SSC CGL
Best suited to candidates with genuinely strong quantitative ability who want a city-anchored posting and a high ceiling. If you are aiming specifically at Assistant Audit Officer, Income Tax Inspector or CBI Sub-Inspector, this is the only route to them.
- Junior Statistical Officer additionally needs 60% in Mathematics in Class 12, or Statistics as a degree subject.
- Final year students cannot apply — the degree must be complete by the cutoff date.
- A 2026 corrigendum raised the upper age limit for certain CBIC Inspector posts from 30 to 32.
