SSC JE age limit and relaxation 2026
The age limit for SSC JE 2026 is 18 to 32 years as on 01 Aug 2026. Your age is counted on that cutoff date, not on the day you apply — so a candidate who turns 33 after the cutoff date is still eligible.

Who should apply for SSC JE
If you hold a Civil, Mechanical or Electrical diploma or degree, this is almost certainly the highest-value exam available to you. Competition is a fraction of SSC CGL because the eligibility pool is restricted to engineering candidates.
- Age limit varies by department — 30 for some, 32 for others. Read the post-wise table carefully.
- Paper-II is descriptive, which is unusual for SSC and requires written practice rather than only MCQ drilling.
- A B.Tech holder is eligible wherever a diploma is accepted, but not the reverse.
