SSC CHSL age limit and relaxation 2026
The age limit for SSC CHSL 2026 is 18 to 27 years as on 01 Aug 2026. Your age is counted on that cutoff date, not on the day you apply — so a candidate who turns 28 after the cutoff date is still eligible.

Who should apply for SSC CHSL
Right for candidates with reasonable English and the discipline to practise typing daily from day one. If you are physically fit and under 23, SSC GD Constable has far more vacancies; if you are over 27, look at railways instead.
- The typing test is where most late-stage eliminations happen. Start practising on day one, not in the final month.
- DEO posts sit at Pay Level 4, materially higher than LDC and JSA at Level 2 — worth targeting.
- Only a pass in Class 12 is required. Your percentage does not matter for most posts.
