What MPPSC State Service is actually like
MPPSC State Service leads to Deputy Collector, DSP, Naib Tehsildar and the state's revenue and finance cadres. Madhya Pradesh has a large tribal population and a correspondingly distinct set of welfare schemes and administrative arrangements, which shapes both the work and the syllabus.
Paper II of the preliminary examination is qualifying at 33% and its marks do not count toward selection. Because it does not count, candidates deprioritise it, and because it is a hard floor, that is where otherwise strong candidates end their year. A few weeks of comprehension and reasoning practice is usually enough. MP-specific history, culture, geography and polity carry real weight at both stages, and national material does not cover them. Age relaxation here follows MP domicile rather than residence.
