Why does the category-wise table matter so much in Chhattisgarh?
Because scheduled tribe reservation here is among the highest in the country. The number of posts actually contested in the unreserved pool is a fraction of the advertised total, which cuts favourably one way and unfavourably the other.
Is the CGPSC fee waived?
For candidates domiciled in Chhattisgarh, yes. Others pay, and are additionally treated as unreserved regardless of the category they hold elsewhere.
How much state-specific preparation does CGPSC need?
Substantial, and separately budgeted. State history, tribal communities and their institutions, the forest and mineral economy and the arrangements made at state formation appear at both stages in more depth than national material carries.
