HPPSC HAS 2026: Eligibility, Age Limit, Vacancy & Selection Process
One document carries almost every advantage available here. The bona fide Himachali certificate gates reservation, age relaxation, the fee concession and several categories of post — and a caste or income certificate is not a substitute for it. Without one, a candidate competes in the open pool of a state whose open pool is very small indeed.

HPPSC HAS age limit and relaxation 2026
The age limit for HPPSC HAS 2026 is 21 to 34 years as on 01 Jan 2027. The Himachal Pradesh domicile certificate is what unlocks any relaxation, and it is checked at document verification — apply for it before the form opens, not after you clear the written stage.
| Category | Relaxation | Effective maximum age |
|---|---|---|
| General / EWS | No relaxation | 34 years |
| Reserved categories, women, PwD, ex-servicemen | Set by Himachal Pradesh government rules for Himachal Pradesh domicile candidates — read the upper age for your category in the notification | |
The OBC +3 / SC-ST +5 figures that apply to SSC and UPSC are central rules. HPPSC HAS follows Himachal Pradesh's own, and they apply only to Himachal Pradesh domicile — a reserved-category candidate from another state is assessed as General, at 34. Full age relaxation rules →

| Stage | Details |
|---|---|

| Interview | A board that weighs, among other things, whether a candidate has thought seriously about remote-district posting. |
Who should apply for HPPSC HAS
For bona fide Himachali graduates. Candidates whose families moved into or out of the state should establish their certificate position early rather than at verification.
- The bona fide certificate is separate from caste and income certificates.
- Himachal maintains its own sub-categories for backward areas and low-income households.
- Postings in Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti and interior Chamba involve genuine isolation.
