Kerala Administrative Service 2026: Eligibility, Age Limit, Vacancy & Selection Process

Vacancies not announced Graduate level Kerala Public Service Commission Updated

Kerala's own senior administrative cadre, filled through three parallel competitions inside one examination — open candidates, serving state employees, and employees past a defined seniority, each ranked in its own pool. Almost no other state splits its administrative exam this way, and the split is worth more to a serving employee than any amount of preparation.

Kerala Administrative Service 2026 — frequently asked questions

What are the three KAS streams?
Open candidates, serving state government employees, and employees meeting a defined seniority. Each is ranked in its own pool, so a serving employee is never measured against a fresh graduate.
Can I change my KAS stream after applying?
No. The stream is fixed at application, and a serving employee who ticks the open stream by mistake has given away the single largest advantage available to them for that cycle.
How senior are the posts KAS fills?
It feeds Kerala's own senior administrative cadre — Deputy Collector, Assistant Secretary in the Secretariat and equivalent district posts — which is a tier above the departmental recruitments the commission runs continuously.

What Kerala Administrative Service is actually like

A serving state employee who applies in the open stream is competing against the whole graduate population of Kerala for no reason. Read the stream definitions before you touch the form.
